But, one needs to consider the cost of living in New York City, which is one of the most expensive in the nation. While the absence of a school museum or gallery may limit on-campus exhibition and curatorial opportunities, New York City is replete with world-class institutions for students to explore and seek out internships and other opportunities. Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is one of the oldest art colleges in the US.

SCAD graduates are prepared to join elite agencies, multinational companies, or start their own businesses as they lead branding, visual marketing, interactive media, and immersive campaigns. Graduates work at top companies around the globe including Apple, IBM, Ralph Lauren, Under Armour, Verizon, and many others. The program can be further divided into package design, editorial design, information graphics, corporate identity, publication design, CD packaging, book jacket design, environmental design and website design.

The BFA Program “is a multidisciplinary educational system in itself, offering separate majors that include Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Interaction Design and 3D Design,” says the school. Otis College offers undergraduate degrees in a wide variety of visual and applied arts, media, and design. Some institutions enroll fewer than 500 students at one time, while others are part of a campus of over 30,000. Of course, as an Ivy League school, Yale’s acceptance rate is the lowest and most competitive on our list, at a super slim 5%. In addition, Yale’s tuition is among the top of our range, measuring out at $62,250 per year. That being said, Yale offers generous financial aid with 52% of students receiving up to $63,523 in aid.
